Some theory, some practice, a few interesting numbers.
LigaMetrics is, in practice, a one-person hobby project. It brings together three things: my fondness for Polish football, the statistical analysis I do for a living, and sports betting — where, like a fair number of people, I tried my luck.
What came out of that combination is the idea behind LigaMetrics. Some theory, some practice, a few interesting numbers, and above all an honest collision between an analytical model and the reality of bookmaking in Poland — applied to the best league in the world 😉 and to the side markets nobody bothers with.
This is an analytical and educational service.
What does that mean?
We do not hand out bets, tipping advice or „proven" staking systems. We show the probabilities of match events and teach you how to measure them in a betting context. That is also why we publish our own misses: in historical testing the model does NOT beat the bookmakers' closing line, and we say so plainly instead of dressing it up. And if you want to test your own strategy without risk, paper trading will calculate your CLV — a real measurement, not a promise of profit or a winning ticket.
That is far better training than someone else's betting slip, a paid „lock", or trusting your gut alone. Here you will not lose money, and in return you get knowledge and tools that let you do your own analysis and make an informed choice. You will also see how bookmakers actually earn, and what to avoid if you would rather not hand them your money.
Keep in mind that betting is largely mathematics, but in the end it is chance that decides, not the model — if mathematics decided, Spain should have comfortably beaten Cape Verde 🙂
